Sewell Peak was a metaphoric introduction for all the year 10’s into NCEA for next year. It is saying that going through level 1,2,3 will be challenging but once you make it to the end it will all be worth it, all the pain, sweat and tears that were shed were all for a good reason. Once we started the walk we all knew what we were heading into, a steep hill with a good view at the top and we all knew that we were going to struggle going up. But I found that if you don’t focus on the pain and just look at the nature around you, you will enjoy the walk and find it more of a brisk walk than a challenging hike. At the bottom of the walk we found that the trees were really diverse and were going to different heights but as we got higher the trees started to deplete and become more shorter and than becoming shrubs and bushes.
