Florence Lawrence was the first publicly named movie actor in the world. She was born on January the 2nd, 1886 in Hamilton, Canada where she lived until she moved Hollywood to follow her acting career and see where it will take her in life.


She worked on Broadway for the first part of her career and then when the opportunity came up to work in front of a camera she didn’t let it pass. She appeared in more than 300 movies in her whole life she quickly got a huge fan base. After a few years passed her career started to die down, she relied on some small parts as extras, then her mother (That whom was really close to and always turned to) passed away in August, 1929.
She was married 3 times. Her first husband past away and after that she was divorce twice. The last husband was a drunk and abusive alcoholic.


In the mid 1937, she was diagnosed with a bone disease that causes amnesia and depression. In 1938 she she called M-G-M and claimed that she was ill. She drank cough syrup and ant paiste in her home in West Hollywood. She was rushed to hospital but wasn’t able to be saved, she died at 2:45pm. Her room mate got back home and found her suicide note.

Louis Le Prince was born on the 28th of August 1841 in Metz, France where he lived for more than half of his life and then moved to New York to see how it would help his career blossom in many different ways.


He was a busy worker, an Inventor, Artist and an Art teacher. He invented the early motion picture camera that he used to record his films. He filmed his first film in 1888 called the Roundhay Garden Scene with his single-lens camera and some other cameras and lenses.


In the 1890’s he disappeared off the face of earth in Dijon, France to never be seen again. People say that he hopped onto a train but never got off. Lots of people theorise that his disappearance was suicide or that he was murdered. But to this day no one has figured out what had happened an no one has come to a conclusion. Still to this day there are people trying to find out how he disappeared.

    Very interesting research. I didn't know about either of these people before. It must have been amazing times to be an actor in such a fast changing world from the stage to the screen. I want you to go back and find where you have written "devoured." Is this what you really meant to write? How does it change the meaning of your sentence? How would you re-write that sentence?
