Week 6 Reflection

This week we started with a new poem (a conversation poem) and it was where we had to lie about being late to school. Here it is...

Late again Howard
What’s the excuse this time?
My friend died.
Which one?
Harry.
Yesterday you missed 2 tests.
It was his funeral.
Where is your homework?
At home.
Why?
Because it’s not done.
Why didn’t you do it?
Because Harry does it for me.
Go to athletics.
I can’t do that.
Why?
Because my grandma died.
How old was she?
Don’t know.
Why?
Because she is a dog.
Why did you name your dog grandma?
Because she was given to use from grandma.
Why is that?
Because she died.

In maths we were doing measurement. Here is my DLO on how to do it.

This week we went up to Room 10 and learned about the NZ history.
We were put into groups and acted out scenes. I was put into a group that made Moko on tribes generals faces so they could get food and water because they lived on a hill edge and the food wasn't growing that year. They had a slave that made the Moko for them. But they didn't treat him like a slave. They treated him like he was family.
Also this week we had to go onto different websites and find ones that we can use for publishing our work on. Here is an example on one called Pixlr.com.I done it on my speech that i'm doing.

One fine and hot day I was going to eat lunch and then mow the lawn. But then I went all lethargic and fell on the ground. My mom was trying to talk to me but I was not responding to her. My mom went to the phone and rang the doctors and they said to go to the hospital. So she rang the hospital and they came over to our house. They finger pricked me and tried to talk to me but I still didn't respond to them. They took me to the ambulance and I got a ride in it. I felt really terrified and scared like mad when I hopped into the ambulance and my hart was beating so fast that it felt like it was going to blow up. It was not long until we got to the hospital. They put me on a wheelchair and took me to a bed and the doctors gave me a headache tablet and I went to sleep for 4 hours and then I woke up and they gave me some food to eat. Desk reveiw

I am making a dest review so that I am able to check my work to make sure that it is up to date. I am doing this to make sure that my questionnaire is clear and easy to complete and to make sure that anyone will be able to do it. I need to make sure that my questions are not biased in any way and that it doesn't make the tester uncomfortable to answer. OK? Sewell Peak

Sewell Peak was a metaphoric introduction for all the year 10’s into NCEA for next year. It is saying that going through level 1,2,3 will be challenging but once you make it to the end it will all be worth it, all the pain, sweat and tears that were shed were all for a good reason. Once we started the walk we all knew what we were heading into, a steep hill with a good view at the top and we all knew that we were going to struggle going up. But I found that if you don’t focus on the pain and just look at the nature around you, you will enjoy the walk and find it more of a brisk walk than a challenging hike. At the bottom of the walk we found that the trees were really diverse and were going to different heights but as we got higher the trees started to deplete and become more shorter and than becoming shrubs and bushes.
